Behind the Silent Cries

Image
Photo by Paris Bilal on Unsplash.com. I was sitting at work today and couldn't help but think of this song. You see, at my workplace, I am known as a Christian. I try my best to live up to the standards a Christian should, but I can't help noticing that, as a way of life, we sometimes fall short. In those times, we need the Lord. This song starts off by saying... Everyday they pass me by, I can see it in their eyes. Empty people filled with care, Headed who knows where? This is so true, is it not? On they go through private pain, Living fear to fear. Laughter hides their silent cries, Only Jesus hears. This also is true. I feel the way of life is that if you are going through a rough time, bottle it up and hide your emotions, but instead, as Christians, we should release that pressure in the bottle and give it all to God. Sometimes those 'silent cries' can be loud, but often, in a time of need, they are quiet or silent. This next bit, I love so much! People need the Lor...

Faith Over Fear: Finding the Courage to Speak

Image
Photo by Kane Reinholdtsen on Unspash.com. If you're not sure what's happened over the last few weeks, I will fill you in. In my last blog entry, I explained how God has used my life over the last (almost) 11 months and impacted it in ways I could never imagine. For me, Public Speaking has always been one of my fears. Sure, get me with a group of people, say a maximum of 10, and I am fine, but get me up on a platform in front of heaps of people, and that is a different story. You see, when I was in High School, I used to try and skip the moments we had to give a presentation in class by "going to the toilet" because "I was busting". There was to be no toilet stuff happening tonight because God wanted me to speak; that is for sure. I look back, even after giving my testimony about how much God has helped me over the last period of time, and I am amazed; there is no other word for it. I have totally come out of my shell from my first time in Morley, and some a...

I Once Was Blind, But Now I See - Easter Camp 2013

Photo by Jeremy Bishop on Unspash.com. I don't really know what to say; I am not a man of many words, but I pray and hope my words in this entry may help someone else. I am the sort of person who hides his emotions and keeps to himself a lot, which can be a bad thing sometimes, but when I blog, I feel like I can't stop myself from letting the words come out. It's weird, I know. First, I know people are praying for me regularly, nationally and internationally, and I am thankful for that. I came to Easter Camp this year, expecting to find something, just something, that I could take back and use to help me in my walk of faith. I had not been to an Easter Camp for ages so it was going to be different and those 2 or so years I have gone to Easter Camp were for other intentions for example the difference in music however, this year I wanted something more, I wanted something to relieve and revive me. I'll stand up and be honest when I say that I was far from a "good...
